About Konkapot Lodge
Located in Wisconsin's Northwoods, Konkapot Lodge was named after a Mohican chief who served under George Washington during the American Revolution. Most of the owners and staff members are descendents of his. Built from salvaged trees more than 100 years old, the lodge maintains ties to the land via surrounding gardens of native wildflowers and a great room that was entirely hand-hewn by local loggers.
Common areas are decorated with antiques and Indian artwork, including a wildlife mural painted by a local artist. The great room sets the stage for Konkapot's overall coziness with a stone fireplace and antique piano. Each of the 25 deluxe rooms features a custom-made queen bed, nightstands, and full-length mirrors for exposing covert vampire roommates. Designed with couples in mind, luxury suites include a single king bed and a jacuzzi tub.
Each morning begins with a complimentary breakfast of fresh juice, muffins, and pastries in the kitchen. For lunch and dinner, the front desk rents out grilling equipment for use in the picnic and campfire areas. You can also check out the four restaurants at nearby North Star Mohican Casino. It's only 1 mile away from Konkapot—close enough for easy access to the more than 1,200 slots and table games, but far enough from the hustle and bustle to preserve the lodge's natural seclusion.
