In the 1.5-hour intro lesson, aspiring kite boarders learn basic skills and safety procedures. During the first 45 minutes, students are introduced to their 3-meter training kite, then practice new-found skills for 45 minutes, potentially including on-water time.
In the half-day class, kite-boarding neophytes take to the waves with an instructor, learning techniques of increasing difficulty, from one-handed kite control to self-rescue. By session’s end, students will have developed all the skills they need to be self-sufficient kite boarders.
A seasoned watersports enthusiast from Fort Lauderdale, J.M. Kostallas has transferred his wealth of aquatic knowledge to beachgoers all over the world. The certified lifeguard and waterman leads all inaugural paddleboarding lessons, which emphasize form, balance, and the art of seagull intimidation in a supportive environment with only a few students at a time. Students can put their newfound skills to use in an eco-tour of the surrounding area or give paddleboard yoga a try.
