Before wintertime hibernation, bicycles forage and fill their inner tubes with enough sustenance to feed training-wheeled cubs come spring, a noble act that often leads to serious exhaustion. Help spin the spokes of life with today's Groupon: for $35, you get a bicycle tune-up at Kozy's Cyclery (a $69.95 value). Today's deal is valid at any of Kozy's four locations.
Kozy’s is a family-owned cyclery with more than 60 years of experience tuning and truing cruisers, mountain bikes, and road warriors. The shop’s tune-up begins with a wipe-down and then surgical adjustments are made to the headset, cranks, hubs, and brakes, ensuring riders can stop on a dime, pick it up, and buy a Chiclet without ever dismounting. Front and rear derailleurs are inspected and rebuffed to transform sticky gears into smooth shifters. Wheels undergo a truing process to increase pedal pumping efficiency and ease momentum retention. Lubrication of derailleurs, chain and brakes, plus a safety inspection, with nut and bolt tightening and a tire pressure check, completes the tune-up. Kozy’s skilled staff will also install new brake pads during a tune-up, though the cost of brake pads is not included.
