What You'll Get
A recent survey ranks cows' bellies ahead of safety deposit boxes and mattresses as the preferred place to store valuables. Experience one of nature's most priceless resources with today's Groupon: for $19, you get four tickets to the farm tour at Kreider Farms in Manheim (up to a $38 value).
Kreider Farm, a decades-old egg and dairy farm, plants the seeds of knowledge with its farm tour, during which an expert tour guide leads explorers through a behind-the-scenes look at dairy production. The 90-minute expedition begins with a bus ride through Kreider's Cow Palace, exhibiting the bovine beauty of the more than 1,400 cows relaxing in one another's company and discussing Platonic ideals. Understand a modern mammals' métier with a bird's-eye view of Kreider's milking carousel, a massive rotary platform that cleans, milks, and rotates the cows in a quick and painless process that allows for vast dairy production and slow-paced cattle-drying. After the tour, newly minted bovine experts are welcome to shop for fresh produce or dine on a cornucopia of fresh dairy treats at the Manheim Grill & Restaurant.

About Kreider Farms
All big things start small, but few major farms start as small as family-owned Kreider Farms did, with 102 acres of land and only 12 cows. Today, the farm spans more than 2,500 acres and includes over 6 million egg laying chickens, including cage free and cage free organic chickens, 2,000 cows, and 225 employees. The farm distributes its eggs, milk, and premium ice cream throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, and reports that it has become one of the largest egg producers in the state of Pennsylvania. Kreider Farms’ wares have been endorsed by multiple chefs, a more meaningful accolade than the cardboard crowns of excellence distributed by fast-food eateries. The farm takes its environmental mission seriously, treating the land with respect and adopting ethical and environmentally responsible practices. Workers happily share their knowledge and story with others during 90-minute farm tours or virtual tours on the website.
