Krewe of Kringle’s seasonal fetes raise funds for Louisiana charities by flooding the streets with revelers who don Santa suits, elvish garb, or other holiday accouterments. Festivities begin with a block party on Decatur Street, where party-goers imbibe amber and seasonal brews from Abita or gulp drink specials from host bars Pravda, Molly’s, and Jimmy Buffet’s. Traipse down Bourbon Street to the cheers of onlookers and the bellows of inebriated snowmen before shaking various body parts to live performances at the Bourbon Street Blues Company. Thirst-quenching stops along the route lead to a second block party, where Pat O’Brien’s, The Boondock Saint, and Johnny White’s welcome merrymakers with full Abita kegs. Holiday costumes, along with 21 years of life experience, must accompany pub crawlers on their trek through the city.
Krewe of Kringle
In the Krewe of Kringle pub crawl, revelers dressed as Santas, elves, reindeer, and a multitude of other holiday figures set out to conquer numerous area bars. Participants get free beer at each location, and can take advantage of drink and shot specials.
