Scouring London for fresh produce, the chefs at La Bella Vita Ristorante prepare a menu of casual Italian fare that encompasses pizzas, pastas, and entrees showcasing prime meats. Tandems and foursomes survey starters ranging from zucchini sticks to lobster bisque, both stoking appetites more effectively than a bacon air freshener. Come the main course, diners lance forks through morsels such as tender gnocchi mixed with grilled chicken, roasted mushrooms, and baby spinach or carve into a reserve Angus striploin crowned in peppercorn cream sauce. Palates then cool while diners revel in dessert such as the New York-style crème brûlée cheesecake, served with fresh fruit compote and shaped like a taxi. Between bites, diners may unwind amid La Bella’s streamlined decor of chocolaty brown accents and leather-upholstered chairs or spill out onto the patio to bask in the sunshine, weather permitting.

La Bella Vita

After scouring markets for fresh produce, the chefs at La Bella Vita return to the kitchen to knead dough for pizzas and press it into sheets for pasta. Tender gnocchi softens quickly in pans with grilled chicken and roasted mushrooms, and the cooks spoon dollops of lemon-dill yogurt sauce onto cuts of salmon. From an oven emerge pizzas seasoned by imported flames and topped with grilled eggplant, goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, and brie. The metallic chorus of pots and busy knives drifts out into La Bella Vita’s dining room, past leather chairs, and out onto a sunny patio.

The service and atmosphere were terrific and the food was very good. Until Groupon, I had never heard of the restaurant and it more than exceeded my expectations. The entire family had a great meal and all left comfortably full.
