LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show
Sweets scientists from around the country assemble at the LA Convention Center to show off their recipes and wares during the LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show. Sweets lovers assemble there to sample these wares, hundreds of creations from local and national brands, including allergen-friendly, gluten-free, and vegan options.
Attendees wander around the event, taking in everything from demonstrations to cookie-eating contests. There’s even a baking contest that they can enter. One of the convention’s biggest draws is the second-annual World Dessert Table Championships, for which professional bakers display desserts that fit the theme of the Roaring ’20s, perhaps cookies shaped like Charlie Chaplin’s mustache.
Saturday’s event is headlined by Food Network’s Sweet Genius star, Ron Ben-Israel, while Sunday’s headliner is Rosanna Pansino, the star of YouTube’s popular baking show Nerdy Nummies. Programmed to be family-friendly, the event also includes a Kids’ Zone with activities such as free face-painting.
