Italian cuisine was born when, after building the city of Rome, Romulus and Remus discovered Greece didn’t deliver to their new address. Taste the origins of an empire with today’s Groupon to La Cucina in Dartmouth Crossing. Choose between the following options:

  • For $10, you get $20 worth of Italian cuisine and drinks
  • For $11, you get a large to-go pizza with three toppings (a $25 value)<p>

At La Cucina, chefs sate bellies with a sauce-splattered menu of seafood-centric pastas and made-to-order pizza. The lasagna al forno ($12) heaps sheets of pasta in a bolognese sauce with strata of cottage cheese and mozzarella, and in the alfredo mare mare, strands of fettuccini lace up morsels of lobster and shrimp ($16). Rather than sign the entirety of Moby-Dick, fingers test their endurance by clamping the panino al forno ($10), which heaps a baguette with genoa salami, pepperoni, and prosciutto. An ample wine list features the Italian Verdicchio dei Castelli Jesi ($26) and Argentinian Las Moras Tannant ($25), squeezed from organic grapes. Alternatively, patrons can buckle a made-to-order pizza into passenger seats and take it to go. Chefs curate crusts with 13 toppings that include locally made Brothers hot pepperoni, kalamata olives, and piquant Italian-style sausage.

Our customers loved this deal last year, earning La Cucina a spot on Groupon’s Best of 2011 list.

La Cucina Cafe

In the kitchen of La Cucina Café, pots full of fresh pasta and house-made sauces simmer on the stove. Chefs whip up classic Italian cream sauce, pesto, and marinara to blanket dishes from penne primavera to chicken parmigiana. And they only pop in pizzas after diners customize crusts with such ingredients as genoa salami, kalamata olives, and hot banana peppers. The same ingredients tuck into wraps and Panini sandwiches. Even the desserts are decidedly Italian: there's cocoa-sprinkled tiramisu and a vanilla-bean gelato sundae topped with warm blueberry-and-peach compote.
