The menu includes appetizers such as chicken or beef empanadas ($6.99) and tamales stuffed with pork or chicken ($6.99). Entrees include ceviche mixto—fish and shellfish marinated in lime juice and chili, served with corn and sweet potato ($16)—and carapulcra, braised pork served in a mild Andean potato sauce ($12.99).

La Furia Chalaca

The aromas of fresh seafood marinated in lime juice and plantains frying waft from the kitchen at La Furia Chalaca, where head chef Maria Fiestas follows traditional techniques passed on through her family to craft authentic Peruvian cuisine. Each day, Fiestas dips into a pantry stocked with ingredients imported from Peru, such as the Andean dried potatoes she uses to thicken the sauce for her braised-pork dish carapulcra. She finishes off her menu with authentic desserts, including her mazamorra morada, a pudding of purple corn, sweet-potato flour, cinnamon, and cloves mixed with bits of apple and pineapple.

In the dining room, flickering votive candles on white linen-topped tables cast a romantic glow, while guests absorb the heat of Latin sounds while sipping one of many tempting wine selections.

Wonderful food, service, and live music. At first they didn't want to accept my Groupon on a Saturday (no limitations listed on the Groupon itself), but they "made an exception" and we had a wonderful evening.
