What You'll Get

Conductor Steven Schick and the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus have a multi-media event on tap for their latest performance, drawing on iconic places and people for an evening of stirring music. The program begins with "Gotham," a symphonic and cinematic portrayal of turn of the century New York City, created by composer Michael Gordon and filmmaker Bill Morrison. Up next is Stravinsky's melodramatic orchestra piece "Persephone," which tells the story of the Greek goddess through a narrator, soloist, orchestra and adult and children's choruses.
