Some fear that having their picture taken steals one's soul; forgetting that, once it's gone, you're free to chop onions or watch baby deer kiss with stone-faced impunity. Forge a meaningful moment in time with today's Groupon: for $59, you get a one-hour high-school-senior photography session and two 5" x 7" prints from Ladybug Photography (a $215 value).
A 2010 nominee for Best Western Washington Photographer, Ladybug Photography specializes in trenchant, truthful, and intimate images for weddings, family portraits, and high-school-senior sessions. Two-time Pulitzer Prize–nominated photographer Teri Harris will use her time-recording picture-scope to capture high-school-senior portraits in a variety of poses with unlimited clothing changes (a $125 value). Future graduates can bring props, such as guitars or an Elvis Presley cardboard cutouts, to add personalized pizzazz to snapshots. Sessions are held either in-studio or at your choice of one of six outdoor locations in Seattle, Gig Harbor, and Tacoma. The photographer shoots in color, black-and-white, and sepia tones to give the senior subject a wide selection before digitally retouching the photo to eliminate blemishes and mucky auras. The senior subject selects two photos to be enlarged into 5" x 7" photos (a $90 value, up to 2 poses), and families can purchase additional prints at an added cost.
Package add-ons, such as a makeup artist, additional family members in the shoot, or action shots of a contortionist leg hold, are available for an extra fee.
Teri and Greg Harris draw on artistic eyes honed in careers as an award-winning former photojournalist and a high-profile web designer, respectively, to capture memories at Ladybug Photography. The couple memorializes blissful weddings, cozy family scenes, and grads-to-be in black-and-white, sepia, or color portraits. Lighthearted shoots may make use of props, pets, and outfit and personality changes as subjects let their inner glow shine in-studio or at lush area parks, gardens, and beachfronts.
