History's greatest composers collide with modern masters at the Laguna Beach Music Festival. From Bach and Beethoven to jazz improvisation and world premieres, this three-day festival headed by artistic directors Jennifer Koh and Shai Wosner shows how modern music continues to be influenced by the old masters. Koh teams with BAFTA Award-winning artist Tal Rosner, whose video installation accompanies the violinist's pairing of Bach and his 20th-century offspring. Then, Wosner riffs on Schubert's last set of Impromptus with his own jazz improvisations. Los Angeles-based collective wild Up! will continue the musical dialogue between past and present with modern masterpieces from across a wide range of musical traditions.
