Unlike other bat-and-ball games such as cricket, indoor cricket, and single-wicket cricket, baseball doesn't make silences awkward. Today's Groupon alternates enthusiastic cheers with reflective bites of hot dog: for $19, you get two box-seat tickets, two souvenir baseballs, and two meal vouchers (a $38 total value) to your choice of three Lake County Captains games vs. the Lansing Lugnuts. Choose from games on Saturday, September 4, at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday, September 5, at 1:00 p.m.; and Monday, September 6, at 1:00 p.m.

The Captains—the single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians—play at fan-friendly Classic Park in Eastlake. Tickets will be available for pick-up at will call before or during any of the three game dates. You'll get to pick from any available seats in the box section, which contains the best of the ballpark's 7,000 perches with unobstructed views. With no limit on the number of Groupons per person, grab enough to treat the whole family or your entire Bunco league to a day or night of quality ball.

Watching baseball with a sweetheart, a buddy, or an out-of-touch dad conjures a simpler time when cows produced drinkable bases instead of bio-engineered acid. As you soak in the excitement of a live sporting event, you can turn the souvenir baseball in your hand, imagining what it's like to be on the field, or head to the concession stand for a mid-inning meal. Each concession voucher is good for a bag of Shearer's chips, a Coke product, and your choice of pizza slice, hamburger, or hot dog. Take advantage of special prizes and promotions at each game, including a free Patriotic Captains Cap to the first 1,500 fans and post-game fireworks on Saturday, September 4; Fan Appreciation Day, with prizes, pre-game autographs, face painting, a magician, and more on Sunday, September 5; and 50-cent hot dogs, $1 fries, popcorn, onion rings, fountain sodas, and 10 oz. draft beers on Monday, September 6.

About Lake County Captains

Like many minor league teams, the Lake County Captains Professional Baseball Club didn't start out with their current name or even in their current state. The Columbus (GA) Indians were founded in 1991, and a year later, they became the RedStixx. It wasn't until 2003 that the franchise moved to Eastlake, Ohio, where they adopted the Captains moniker and caught their first bluegill. That same year, the newly established Captains opened Classic Park, the 6,150-seat facility that mixes nostalgic charm with modern features.
