About Lake County Fairgrounds

The Lake County Fairgrounds are the site of The Lake County Fair, a showcase for Midwestern traditions. Themed as "Summer's Best Fest", this year's Fair has a new look focused on Lake County businesses, it’s agricultural core, “green” living concepts and merging rural heritage with today’s suburban population. No matter if they're habitual city slickers, suburb dwellers or country folk, the 87th Annual Fair is northern Illinois’ biggest family party, celebrating the nostalgia of simpler times in rural America while also allowing visitors to experience livestock barns, 4-H displays, queen pageants, circus performers, demolition derbies, plus amusement rides and the variety of food that is now a vital part of every county fair.

Beyond those five glorious summer days, though, The Lake County Fairgrounds is also a premier destination in Northern Illinois for year-round events. With a centrally located 165-acre campus midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, the fairgrounds hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, antique shows, art fairs, mud runs and trade shows.
