Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

I am looking on the company's website page and I see the cost of the Ultimate Bicycle Care is $150. Does this mean I have to pay an additional $75 on top of the $35 I pay for this groupon deal?

Katherine J.  asked on  Mar 10, 2013

A:

The Groupon is for the Ultimate Bicycle Tune up, not the Ultimate Bicycle Care. Sorry for the confusion. I suppose I could have chosen my wording more wisely.

Q:

I know where you are located, and have a great place! I have never used your services and would be very interested in bringing my bike in for a tune up and having my wheels trued. My question is that if I get the Groupon special, you have 440 people signed up, how long is it going to take to actually get in if I want to start riding very soon? I don;t want to wait until the middle of summer to get my bike tuned up, which I am sure you can appreciate! :) So the question are (1) , are you going to have the staff to accommodate all of these requests (I am interested in the Recreation drive location), (2) When do you open for business for the season so I can schedule an appointment? Thank you! LS

Lisa S.  asked on  Mar 14, 2013

A:

Lisa, this is our third consecutive season offering a Groupon. We sell about the same amount each season and have no problem whatsoever accommodating the demand. We have two locations and 13 mechanics on hand. The wait for a tune up rarely goes over 2 hours, and we have openings to perform tune ups daily. No other shop in the city performs service this quick and professionally! We're accepting appointments as early as this weekend and Monday.

Q:

I see an appointment is required. Does that mean the tune up is done the same day as the appointment? If so, what is the approximate time of the tune-up? I ask, because I live outside the city, and would prefer to drop off and pick up the bike on the same day. Also, does the tune-up include making sure that the gears are working correctly? My chain has fallen off a few times, and I am not sure if the gears are in the right places due to the way I re-attached the chain. Thanks!

A:

You will call to schedule your appointment. You can select a date that works for you! Click here to see what is included with the Ultimate Bike Tune-Up. They will need the bike for 1-2 hours.

A:

Thank you, Patrick. Your chain-dropping issue will most likely be taken care of with the tune up. If a part needs to be replaced, labor will be included.

Q:

Will this tune-up fix my noisy brakes? I already have new pads.

Ed M.  asked on  Mar 10, 2013

A:

Yes, we should have no problem diagnosing the problem within the confines of the tune up.

Q:

Does completelty cleans the drive mean taking apart the crank and rear wheel axle? If not how much extra would that be?

David L.  asked on  Mar 9, 2013

A:

The tune up includes a simple cleaning and lubrication of the drivetrain. We do not remove the chain and cassette and soak it in a degreaser.
