What You'll Get

The ground is filled with more than semicursed treasure chests and fully candied dinosaur bones. Let nature's soil sitters watch over your subterranean cache with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of flowers, shrubs, and trees at Lakeshore Garden Centre.

Lakeshore Garden Centre blooms flowers, trees, shrubs, and more in its 4,000-square-foot store and 6,000-square-foot open-air greenhouse, an area greening staple for 75 years. A knowledgeable staff of petal whisperers devotes itself to growing a huge variety of healthy flora, adding a colourful punch to topiary Mona Lisas. Bedeck backyards with more than 25 varieties of hardy rose bushes, including the prolifically blooming Persian Yellow, and the ivory-pink flower clusters of the Morden Blush ($39.99 each). An Andorra juniper evergreen tree ($17.99–$49.99) bequeaths shade throughout the year, and fruit-bearing trees such as honeycrisp apple ($99.99) sate gravitational appetites. For privacy purposes, a perimeter of lilac hedging ($12.99–$16.99/plant) can politely protect property from any close-sniffing neighbours or bee impersonators.

About Lakeshore Garden Centre

Lakeshore Garden Centre started as a mail-order business boasting a four-page pamphlet with four varieties of fruit trees, which the current owners' grandfather, J.M. Dyck, had planted in 1936. Today, the family-owned garden centre encompasses more than 250 acres of field-grown trees and shrubs, a 4,000-square-foot gardening store, and a 6,000-square-foot greenhouse. Along with more than 300 varieties of evergreens, shrubs, and trees, the plant emporium also stocks a large selection of perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, fertilizers, and multiple other garden accessories.
