Originally built in 1945 and redesigned by renowned golf architect Tripp Davis in 1998, Lakeside Golf Course’s 18-hole layout spans 6,756 yards of pristine terrain dotted with mature oak trees. A personal bag of range balls helps golfers prepare their swings for the men’s par 70 and women’s par 71 course, which has served as a training ground for several up-and-coming lawnmowers as well as veteran PGA Tour winners, including Scott Verplank and Bob Tway. Comfortably nestled in the saddle of their golf cart, players traverse the course’s rolling, bermuda-grass fairways as they hunt down wayward golf balls and stare down the impossibly smooth surface of the course’s bent-grass greens. At the end of the round, fountain drinks slake PGA-size thirsts, and a full-service restaurant keeps hungry athletes happy with flavorful fare, HDTVs, and wireless Internet (restaurant eats not included in this Groupon). Rounds can be redeemed anytime Monday–Friday and after 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
