What You'll Get
In the Victorian era, extreme sports were limited to teatime without doilies, writing witty satires about earnesty, and riding a penny-farthing down a mild incline. Shock such staid sensibilities with today's Groupon from Lakota Guides. Choose between the following options:
- For $37, you get a half-day rafting trip on the Lower Eagle River (a $75 value).
- For $159, you get a two-day rafting trip on the Arkansas River (a $325 value).
Lakota Guides provides outdoor adventures and ferries aspiring waternauts across some of Colorado's best rafting rivers with free-flowing currents and scenic terrain. The 3.5-hour rafting trip on the Lower Eagle River is a great way to introduce newcomers to the sport of rafting while enjoying a thrilling day out on the river. The Eagle River is not dam controlled, which makes for temperamental mood swings that can blast passengers with Class II–III rapids, making it safe for ages 5 and older, although minimum age varies with water levels.
Expeditionists with a taste for prolonged exploits can opt for the two-day trip on the Arkansas River, featuring an overnight camping trip sandwiched between two afternoons of Class III to Class IV rafting. Customers can enjoy a filet mignon dinner, a restful night's sleep in Mountain Hardwear tents and sleeping bags, and a hearty breakfast of eggs and french toast before frothy spume escapades. Sleeping bags, tents, and food are all provided and handled by the expertly trained guides. All equipment is included in both of these options, and all guides are CPR, first aid, black bear whispering, and Swiftwater Rescue Technician certified.
Lakota Guides has been offering trips and adventure outings for more than 25 years. Located near popular ski destinations such as Vail and Beaver Creek, these knowledgeable navigators provide fun activities year round. A full-service guide facility, Lakota Guides also offers off-road tours of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 11,000 feet, as well as night-vision tours of star-laden horizons.
