Family recipes and high-quality ingredients have always been at the heart of Lalo's restaurant—even when it first opened more than 30 years ago in a modest, 24-seat space. Today, with locations peppered all across Chicagoland, Lalo's continues to satisfy visitors with fresh produce, premium cuts of meat, and those same original recipes.
Much like the amount of gold at the end of a rainbow, Lalo's menu varies by location, but it's always stocked with traditional Mexican dishes. The pollo con mole poblano, for instance, captivates taste buds with tender pieces of chicken simmered in a homemade mole sauce. Authentic Mexican desserts, such as tres leches cake infused with brandy, punctuate these boldly flavored meals. Diners can also find more substantial hints of booze in margaritas, imported beers, and other authentic cocktails. So try the classic Carne Asada prepared from Black Angus skirt steak and quench your thirst with a lime Margarita made with Sauza and served on the rocks.
