What You'll Get
Similar to tickling a bear without losing an arm, the art of breathing underwater requires years of practice and dedication. Introduce your lungs to aqueous awareness with today’s Groupon: for $29, you get a deluxe scuba-diving experience, available Monday and Wednesday evenings, at Langley Diving in Langley and Thursday evenings in Chilliwack (a $60 value, including HST).
Langley Diving lures surface dwellers to exclusive underwater soirees through the deluxe diving experience. The adventure into the underwater breathing begins with properly fitting into scuba gear and sprouting flippers before Langley's PADI-certified instructors present a brief explanation of safety scuba-equipment usage. At the pool, enjoy one hour of supervised underwater time and practice the basics of scuba-diving technique. Langley Diving also snaps an underwater photo commemorating each diver's "first breath" underwater. The entire deluxe diving experience typically lasts three hours, start to finish—and while students won't be certified to dive just from one class, they will be certified to sit in puddles with scuba gear on.
The scuba sages at Langley Diving teach courses for aspiring divers of all ages, including courses in open-water diving, a series of courses for children, and support groups for those with bathtub phobias. Langley Diving also plans group diving getaways, the next of which is an exotic underwater survey of Palau's shores scheduled for April 2012.
