About 4 Rivers Center for Well Being

Doctor Larsen, born and raised in Oconomowoc, graduated from Medical Acupuncture for Physicians, with a special focus on pain management. The course, conducted by the Helms Medical Institute, combines the knowledge from the medical tradition of classic Chinese acupuncture texts with modern biomedical science. Chinese acupuncture generally speaks in terms of energy flow, or qi (pronounced “chee”), while medical acupuncture draws from this historic knowledge which is validated by modern scientific understanding. Filaments placed at specific points are known to promote the release of chemicals from muscles, nerves, and in the brain.

After completing a surgical internship at Saint Joseph’s Hospital (Chicago), Doctor Larsen trained in the diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago before refocusing his medical career on integrative therapies. Dr. Larsen is excited to provide innovative acupuncture services as complementary or alternative treatments to patients.
