Zaps Zone

Choose your allegiance: red or blue. Players shouldn’t take that decision lightly, since it determines their teammates and home base within Zaps Zone’s 6,200-square-foot indoor arena. Here, dark lighting and themed artwork—courtesy of AirRaid Airbrush—gives the place the vibe of a sci-fi movie, only without actors who insist on saying their catch phrases every five minutes. Obstacles dot the arena, where ramps connect two levels of play space. Zaps Zone’s team makes great use of this space; they set up multiple game types, including base mode and team free-for-alls.

NorCal Laser Tag

Paintball players will feel right at home on NorCal Laser Tag’s outdoor field, with two notable exceptions: no paint and no pain. Norcal trades paintball markers for laser-tag guns, but they don’t sacrifice anything in terms of range. The laser-tag guns work from long distances, so players can shoot from a far away or fire off quick shots before ducking behind a corner. Walls and buildings provide ample places to hide or hang a few clandestine family photos.
