Human faces experience a lifetime of wear and tear from gravity, driving into the wind, and pineapple-pie-eating contests. Today's Groupon lets you restore your cheeks' original splendor: for $1,700, you get a full-face Selphyl treatment at LaserTouch Aesthetics (a $3,500 value).
A new anti-aging system, Selphyl uses the patient's own blood to counteract wrinkles and sagging skin. After a consultation, Dr. Vafa of New York Medical Aesthetics, who provides all aesthetic services at Laser Touch Aesthetics, will collect a small amount of blood and isolate the platelets and fibrins. These are then injected into the face, just below the skin, during a 20-minute in-office procedure. The injected serum releases platelets into the face for up to seven days after the procedure, stimulating collagen production and cell proliferation. Because the treatment uses the patient's own blood, the risk for allergic reactions is miniscule, as is the risk of dead skin coming back to life during electrical storms to feast upon the living. The targeted nature of the procedure also limits most side effects to temporary soreness at the injection site. The treatment's full effects are usually seen within two months as the face's collagen rebuilds itself, and the results can last upwards of 18 months.
LaserTouch Aesthetics' team of licensed laser technicians overhauls dulled complexions and flawed skin with a roster of laser treatments and dermal fillers. Using FDA-approved Candela, Cynosure, and Cutera lasers, they aim to reduce the appearance of acne, wrinkles, and sunspots and strive to do the same to dimples and lines caused by cellulite. During laser treatments, the skin's surface is kept at a comfortable temperature thanks to patented cooling devices.
When they're not aiming state-of-the-art laser beams at unwanted hair or moles, staffers smooth out wrinkles caused by stress or using a porcupine as a pillow with Botox, Dysport, and Juvéderm treatments. Before each appointment, laser practitioners perform test spots and assess skin and hair so they can safely customize each treatment to their client’s specifications.
