A silk press is a method of straightening natural curls sans a chemical relaxer. Instead, this hairstyling technique uses a blow-dryer and flat iron to smooth out the hair.

Soft locs are a type of faux locs that use crochet locs hair and afro kinky (distressed) wrapping hair at the roots while traditional faux locs you would normally use marly hair.

Loc retwisting is a maintenance technique used to maintain dreadlocks that involves twisting and tightening the hair at the roots. It helps to keep the locs looking neat, tidy, and well-defined. This process is typically done every four to six weeks, depending on the hair type and growth rate.
