Q:

Any discounts for monovision?

Bonnie M.  asked on  Apr 10, 2014

A:

Hello Bonnie, There are no additional discounts for monovision unless you need only one eye treated. If that's the case then the cost would be $1100 for just one eye treated wit Lasik. We will let you know what option is best for you at your free consultation.

Q:

How do I know if I would be a good candidate for Lasiks? What do I need to bring from my eye dr? My eye doctor doesn't believe in Lasik, how risky is it?

Kathi K.  asked on  Apr 9, 2014

A:

You will need to come in for a pre-operative evaluation where Dr. Chebil will measure your vision, the curvature of your cornea, the thickness of your cornea, and your pupil size to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. If you have any prior medical record from your Optometrist , please bring them in so Dr.Chebil can review the history of your vision . As for the risk of LASIK, If you are a good candidate for LASIK and your surgeon is dedicated to the field, experienced, and knowledgeable, LASIK is very safe. Scientific military studies document that astronauts, Navy SEALS, and pilots have had the procedure. Dr. Chebil has operated on thousands of patients with extremely high demands on their vision, from SWAT snipers to professional athletes. From the beginning of her practice, Dr.Chebil has emphasized the need for stringent screening, attention to detail, and the highest level of surgical skill to minimize potential risks to patients having LASIK.

Hi Kathi, The best way to find out if you are a good Lasik candidate is to come in to our center for a free Lasik evaluation. Your prescription needs to be stable from last year to now and your eyes should be healthy (no cataracts or glaucoma). Please bring in a copy of your most recent prescription or your latest glasses and we will let you check your eyes and let you know if Lasik is a good option for you. We hope to see you soon. Alexandra Chebil, M.D.
