The Legend of the Laughing Skull

Named for and built on the original site of the mysterious Vortex Incident of 1911, the actual Laughing Skull emerged from a space-time schism and began taunting prominent citizens. It scandalously commented on the contours of their whiskers and bustles, and improvised satirical songs incorporating the names of politicians of the day. Though too quick-moving to be captured by era-photography, satirical woodcuts further tell the story of The Fainting of The Mayor's Wife and the subsequent mob action of the townspeople, who chased the skull down the town's mine with brooms and flags, and smothered it in concrete, or Quickstone as it was known at the time. Though buried deep within the club's foundation for all eternity, its jovial spirit lives on in the comedic masterminds who tread the boards above.
