During the four-hour introduction to firearms-safety class, instructors lead both classroom and live-fire training to teach safe handling, cleaning and storage, along with one-handed and two-handed firing stances.
The women's self defense and firearms class covers the fundamentals of gun use. Under the guidance of instructors, participants perform training exercises at the range and practice self-defense tactics such as firearm retention, hand-to-hand defense, and the use of cover.
In the eight-hour intro to firearms class, instructors delve deeper into handgun fundamentals. The program begins with seven hours of classroom work followed by one hour of supervised, hands-on range shooting so students can apply what they've learned. The class meets the requirements to apply for the Florida and Arizona concealed-carry permit, which is honored in more than 30 states. Classes are typically scheduled on the weekends, and each concludes with a written test and a course certificate. Read more about each class here.

At a Glance
The instructors at Law Weapons & Supply believe knowledge is as vital to responsible firearm handling as attitude and technical knowhow. That's why each of their classes, which range from basic pistol training to women-only classes that focus on self-defense, teaches beginner through advanced shooters with a combination of classroom and live-fire instruction. Beyond the training facilities, Law Weapons & Supply extends to a pro shop with a full-service gunsmith on the premises.
