What You'll Get
Most supervillains name lasers as their preferred tool of revenge and cat provocation; wreak vengeance of your own with today’s Groupon to LazerZone. For $10, you’ll get a day of unlimited tagging (a $20 value) at either the Randolph or Marlboro location. Your Groupon is deactivated between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays, but is charged and ready for action at all other times during regular hours. Serve and volley laser bolts across a darkened, fog-filled court in a tense match to see who is master of the laser now that Argnonoz the Globebreaker is grounded.
Buckle into the transformative vests and prepare to be transported into another dimension. Laser tag is an affordable way to live out video-game dreams, work out tensions with your roommate, or live out your fantasy of starting a ragtag militia of space marines with Erik from accounting. Instead of cartoon re-runs, treat the kids you baby-sit or your actual kids to a more active adventure for the imagination. Get a small group together and make it a social excursion—laser tag is great for double dates, office outings, or post-dental cleaning parties.
During your unlimited day of play, enjoy up to two games or one mission before taking a break and playing again. Between games, you’re free to recharge at the video arcade (Groupon not valid for video games) or visit the snack bar to up-level your energy. Express your laserjoy in song at the Marlboro location’s game-changing karaoke theater. When you’ve seen enough of the bright lights, head back toward the foggy battlegrounds and await the next available laser tag game.
The World’s Only Professional Laser-Tag Player
Boston is not only home to LazerZone, it’s also the home of the world’s only professional laser-tag player, Tad “LaserTad” McKenzie. McKenzie, 33, first gained the laser-tag world’s attention when he won the 1998 Laser Tag World Championships in Orlando despite playing a bass guitar non-stop during all of his matches.
In his words, Tad is known for “having the hottest girlfriend in town, driving a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, dressing like the dude from The Matrix way before that movie even came out, and never, ever losing a match.” He’s also the world’s foremost expert on laser-tag strategy, having penned the 2004 bestseller LaserTad’s LaserRad Laser-Tag LaserTactics For Laser-Tag LaserFanatics.
