Q:

I am interested in learning about preserving seeds for future use as well as organic vegetable growing tips. Can you cover these items for me?

annie h.  asked on  Jan 17, 2013

A:

Attending Course #1 on Soils & Pruning is the first step to learning to grow organically. "Organic" is a process, not a product, and it all starts with understanding your soil. (You will be amazed at how much there is to know!) Course #1 offered through this Groupon special is the first of 8 courses in a college-level gardening program. Course #2 specifically covers vegetable gardening - the when, what and how to plant. Seed saving is covered in Course #5 when we can actually be out in the garden collecting seed at the right stage of maturity. Please see the full schedule on my website at www.learntogarden.net.

Q:

Offer says 3 hour class but when I look at the class schedules, the classes are each for several dates. Does the $20 cover one series, ie. the shade gardening classes on the 4 days listed or just one day?

Mary M.  asked on  Jan 16, 2013

A:

Each class is 3 hours, from 2-5pm. Class size is limited to 15 students, so there are multiple class dates to accomodate the number of students who register. Your $20 buys Course #1 of a series of 8 gardening classes. The remainin 7 courses are offered as one college-level gardening program. Please see my website at ww.learntogarden.net.

Q:

Can you sign up a child? I think my two girls might enjoy learning about this (ages 13 and 9).

Kim Y.  asked on  Jan 16, 2013

A:

These are adult-level classes, although children love the gardens! Perhaps your 13 year old would not be too bored. It will be Ok if you would like for her to attend with you.
