- $330 for a 60-minute Knik Glacier flight for up to three people ($717 value)
The trip begins by taking off from a rural airport in Willow, Alaska with a full view of Mount McKinley as well as passing over the foot hills of the Talkeetna Mountains. Along the way, more mountains will be featured and you may spot moose and bears along the Chugiak Mountain range with the Knik Glacier in the distance. Other sights include outer Lake George, Colony Glacier, and—as your pilot makes their way along the Knik river—groups of Dall sheep as you come around for a landing back in Willow.
Legends Alaska is in flight tours business for 40 years. Amateur pilots can learn how to pilot bush planes by seasoned Alaskan bush pilots. For those who'd rather see the sights than take the controls, tours traverse some of Alaska's most notable landscapes, including Mt. McKinley in Denali National Park, the Mount Spurr volcano, and the Knik Glacier and Colony glaciers. Soar over the icy peaks and deep valleys or hire a plane to take you to official checkpoints along the Iditarod Sled Dog Trail.
