Musical romance and drama abound in this Valentine's Day concert by the acclaimed Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra. Along with a Wagner overture and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade symphonic suite, the PBPO is set to spotlight beloved Polish composer Frederic Chopin, with his Piano Concerto No. 2. Pianist Marcin Koziak takes the lead on this lovely piece, which Chopin wrote at the tender age of 20 and performed as the soloist for its premiere in Warsaw in 1830. Now celebrating its 70th anniversary, the orchestra comes to the Lehman Center in the Bronx direct from Gdansk, under the baton of their principal guest conductor Boguslaw Dawidow.
