Last 2 times I was there at least one person in my party used a credit card and minutes later their card number was being used at local gas stAtions. It's as if they have a security leak in their credit card system. I only use cash their now.

I go there frequently, but have realized the food is sometimes hit or miss. Even on items I have ordered a million times.

What You'll Get

Though coveting thy neighbor's wife or underground sprinkler system is beyond the pale, longing for a mouthful of his cuisine is an understandable desire. Today's Groupon satisfies desires to eat from the table of our nation's neighbor: for $12, you get $25 worth of tapas and Latin fare at The Lime, a hotspot of dining in SoHo. This Groupon can also be used for The Lime's many weekly specials and events, including happy hour.

The Lime's social menu of group tapas plates reflects the festive vibe of its lime-green couches, Latin background music, and the Christmas lights strung along its ceiling beams. Once your flock of friends perches on high stools, kick off your rotary feast with The Lime chicken wings (served with buffalo, guajillo, or spicy guacamole sauce, $7) and the queso blanco with tricolor tortilla chips ($4). The flavor of a Cuban pulled-pork sandwich—slow-simmered and served with black beans, shredded lettuce, sweet plantains, and jalapeño-cheddar sour cream with chili-rubbed fries and queso ($9)—will take tongues away from boring old Florida to an exotic land of tropical temperatures, hurricanes, and large populations of Cuban people. The chicken fiesta bowl de Janeiro (rotisserie-fired chicken with diced red onion, tomato, and avocado in a lime vinaigrette with fresh-citrus Jasmine rice, napa cabbage, and crisp lettuce, $9) provides a zesty foreground to your view of the high-definition TVs lining the walls. Otherwise, try an innovative Asian-influenced take on a classic tortilla with a sushi-cut roll such as the Carnitas, which comes tightly packed with crispy pork, pickled onions, cilantro, and fresh salsa with chile de arbol sauce ($7).

The Lime's weekly specials give customers an excuse to celebrate every day. Mondays give you a chance to test your stomach capacity with $2 burritos. Knock back $2 Red Stripes while poppin' and dreadlockin' to live reggae on Thursday, or ponder the temporal paradox of Friday's all-day happy hour while nodding along to the live late-night beats of DJ Mathias. Use The Lime's calendar to plan ahead and make your social constellations align during one of the restaurant's many events.

The St. Petersburg Times featured The Lime. TripAdvisors give it a 3.5-star average, and 72% of Urbanspooners like it.
