What You'll Get
To subvert grumpy monarchs, angry medieval youths scrawled condiment graffiti such as "Fran Tanner has the plague" and "the king is a jerk" inside their sandwiches. Dig beneath lettuce to bring history to light with today's Groupon: for $7, you get $14 worth of Philly cheesesteaks, sub sandwiches, and drinks at Lenny's Sub Shop. This Groupon is only valid for the Taylorsville Road location and is good for dine-in only.
Lenny's is known in lands near and far for its premium deli meats that are sliced to order, chicken and tuna salad made from scratch, signature hot-pepper relish, and hearty portions. A regular-sized cold sub, which costs $4.95–$6.35, is 7.5 inches long and has about half a pound of meat and cheese. The large versions ($8.95–$10.55) are 15 inches long and pack about a pound of protein and veggie vitamins. Check the menu for the full sandwich selection, which includes warm 'wiches such as the french dip ($6.35 for a regular, $10.95 for a large), liberally loaded with slivers of juicy meat and sided with au jus for dipping. Lenny's also offers salads, kiddie meals, and cookies.
Easily handled, sandwiches are ideal for a quick and filling eat. You get a variety of food groups in every bite without annoying utensil requirements, prep work, or cleanup. Since Lenny's sub varieties come in hot or cold, there is a snaggable meal waiting to be had during the dead of winter or the peak of summer. Head into the friendly sandwichery on an empty stomach tank, and, before you know it, the indicator on your belly gauge will be pleasantly pointing toward full.
Though Lenny's Sub Shop diners in Louisville have yet to post many reviews, Yelpers in Memphis, where Lenny's started, give it an average of 4.5 stars. Citysearchers across the nation, including the Sacramento region, the Atlanta metro area, and the Nashville area give the eatery high marks:
