LesleyAnn is AMAZING as a teacher - a rare mix of very knowledgeable, and yet down to earth (and funny & personable). She was able to explain things in a very easy to understand manner, and had all sorts of helpful tips for photography. Excellent. Highly recommend her courses!

The Groupon was for my husband Jack. He found the Instructor very knowledgable and the class to be extremely relevant and very helpful. He came home pretty excited and felt like he had learned a lot. I have the feeling they will be seeing more of him for future classes!

Lesley's photo session was fun, up-beat and VERY informative .... we thoroughly enjoyed our session and learned a lot about our cameras and photography in general. We came away feeling more confident and couldn't wait to start snapping photos! Lesley's enthusiasm and passion for photography was contagious...she's blessed with a great ability to communicate, teach and share and it made for a wonderful 2 hours in beautiful Fort Langley. Many thanks from Diane, Breanna and Leah :)

What You'll Get

Without photography, capturing memories on the fly would require carrying canvases everywhere and spending heavily on point-and-shoot paint. Take full advantage of modern technology with today's Groupon: for $45, you get a one-hour photography-training session and a one-hour walkabout in Fort Langley from LesleyAnn Photography (a $250 value).

Putting the LesleyAnn in LesleyAnn Photography, the eponymous owner takes her aperture aptitude and shutter-speed skillfulness into the field, coaching photographic novices in picturesque Fort Langley. The personable professional will teach aspiring shutterbugs the basics of aperture, shutter speed, compositional tricks and tips, and the uses of various film speeds. The second half of the walkabout unleashes newly minted lenspersons into the wild under the watchful care of Lesley, on hand to answer questions and help participants release fairies from camera traps. Each walkabout is limited to five people, and everyone is bestowed an 18-page reference booklet that reinforces the lesson but completely undercuts the popular belief that photographs are two-dimensional soul prisons. Participants must bring their own memory cards and DSLR or point-and-shoot camera with the ability to change the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture.

About LesleyAnn Photography

Specializing in family photography, Lesley Ann Bell captures honest and authentic moments in time with each colourful and captivating portrait. During each on-location shoot, she lets her shutter loose on memorable images, snapping a multitude of pictures before winnowing them down to 30 keepers ready for processing and display on prints or online image galleries. Lesley Ann also nurtures nascent shutterbugs through beginner's and advanced DSLR photography classes. Sessions begin with a one-hour training session that teaches photo fundamentals to beginners or advanced lighting techniques to more experienced students. Intimate five-students-or-less classes then migrate outdoors for an hour or more of hands-on experience. With friendly guidance from Lesley Ann, the group puts newly learned principles into practice, training lenses on the memorable landscape of riverbanks, trees, birds, and centaurs combing the grass with metal detectors.
