Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

How long is the cruise?

Robert g.  asked on  Dec 19, 2013

A:

Hi Robert, great question! Aboard our 125-foot LIBERTY CLIPPER, our cruises are usually 2-hours as she is a large ship it takes more time to get on and off the dock. Aboard our 67-foot LIBERTY STAR, most cruises are 90-minutes. Both ships sail approximately the same route in the Boston Harbor. Choose the LIBERTY CLIPPER if you want a large grand sailing ship experience and the LIBERTY STAR if you prefer a smaller more intimate sailing experience. We look forward to taking you tall ship sailing, the Liberty Fleet.

Hi Carol, Of course we do! While we can't always predict the wind and weather, we love sailing just as much as you do! All of our guests are welcome to help raise sail, grab the helm or just sit back and relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Boston Harbor. -Tom H

What is minimum age for passengers? Under what age are kids free, if any?

Alex P.  asked on  Dec 19, 2013

Hi Alex, We don't have a minimum age with the caveat being that parents are responsible to keep track of their children while aboard. One child under two-years will be admitted free of charge for each ticketed adult guest.

Q:

Why are reservations only accepted within three days of sailing? Is that a weather precaution? I want to give as Christmas gifts but people will need to travel to get back to the area to join us in Boston. Very hard to plan ahead. Thank you.

Dara J.  asked on  Dec 19, 2013

A:

Hi Dara, That's a great question, thank you! We only accept reservations within three-days because our schedule can and does change due to private outings on our ships. These Groupon vouchers are intended for our guests with a little more schedule flexibility. Generally speaking, if you book three days in advance, you'll be able to get a seat on a trip, so it should work for you. We are an outdoor event, and we do sail rain or shine. We look forward to taking you and your friends sailing on our Tall Ships in Boston Harbor this summer! Thank you, the Liberty Fleet.
