International eating isn't a dangerous adventure through customs, where the customs officer asks you to open your bag, and you refuse, which prompts him to teach you about manners by reading select Goofus and Gallant comic strips. Take a taste bud tour of Eastern Europe while keeping hand baggage in safe proximity with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of European fare and drinks at Lidos - The Euro Spot on Person Street.
Using fresh ingredients, the culinary maestros of Lidos orchestrate a symphony of Eastern European flavor that tastes as delicious on the tongue as a sultry vampire accent. Satisfy Hungarian hankerings with the chicken paprikash served on a bed of fancy noodles ($11 lunch/$15 dinner), or conquer lunchtime cravings with the grilled Spaniard ($9) sandwich boasting a toasted roll stacked with mammoth amount of meat, Monterey jack, egg, and tomatoes (click here for full menu with prices). In keeping with its Eurasian origins, the restaurant transforms by moonlight into a nightclub bumping with live music, a packed dance floor, and Gucci-wearing Cossack dancers. About Lidos-The Euro Spot
Lidos - The Euro Spot leads a double life as a quaint European bistro by day and a lively dance club at night. During lunch and dinner hours throughout the week, chefs simmer up signature dishes of russian goulash with Angus beef, Hungarian-style chicken paprikash, or german pork schnitzel in a creamy mushroom sauce. Tabletops sprinkle its sunny outdoor patio, and soft green walls surround the white-clothed tables of its dining room. Come nightfall, however, the tables are swept away, the lights dim, and the room fills with the sounds of bumping dance music, live bands, and karaoke. A well-stocked bar serves up regular drink specials, including ladies’-night discounts for women or poodles in convincing tutus.
