Midnight Cowboy started life as a gritty novel, became a classic film starring Jon Voight and Dustin "I'm Walkin' here!" Hoffman, and now comes to the stage in Lifeline Theatre's new production. Texan Joe Buck naively arrives in New York City with big hopes of striking it rich as a hustler for wealthy socialites. But Joe soon falls prey to all manner of con artists and predators. Flat broke, he meets street savvy "Ratso" Rizzo, and this down-and-out pair try to get by in the harsh city any way they can. Capturing all the desperate loneliness of the novel, Midnight Cowboy paints an affecting portrait of modern life.
