Q:

Is this basically the same thing as Fraxel? I've had consultations done for that and was told it would be a good procedure for acne scar/red mark reduction. If it turns out it's not a good fit, can I get a refund? Thanks!

Jessica F.  asked on  Oct 15, 2012

A:

The Pixel and Fraxel are similar, but not the same. The Pixel can improve the appearance of acne scars. I would recommend you come in for a free consultation to determine if the Pixel treatment is the best treatment for you.

Q:

Dr. Lin, I noticed the expiration for this is January 9, 2013. If I buy the 4 treatments and scheduled each session each month, the 3rd and 4th session would be beyond the expiration date. Do you honor the session scheduled beyond this expiration date? I am Asian and have good results in the past with the Fraxel laser, is the proFractional laser comparable to Fraxel? What are the differences?

Jason Y.  asked on  Oct 15, 2012

A:

Yes, we will honor the treatments. But, please start your first treatment before Jan 9, 2013. This treatment is the Pixel (not profractional, which is available in the Sherman Oaks location only). The Pixel is similar to the Fraxel, but not the same. There are many technical differences between the lasers, but both will give you good results.

Q:

Does the Dr Lin actually do the procedure?

azusa  asked on  Oct 14, 2012

A:

Myself or Dr. Gorodisky, a board-certified plastic surgeon, will personally see you in the Oxnard office. Our registered nurse, Ricki, will be the one performing the procedure. She has performed thousands of cosmetic procedures and often trains other nurses and physicians in the latest cosmetic procedures.

Q:

Does your skin need lots of time to recover after the laser treatments (ie. lots of peeling/dryness)?

Lindsay P.  asked on  Oct 11, 2012

A:

There may be 1-2 days of "pinkness" followed by 1-3 days of mild peeling. Most patients are able to cover the areas with moisturizer or make-up and return to work/school the next day.
