What You'll Get
After crocodators, poor fitness is the number one cause of the night-scaries. With today's Groupon, turn the nightmare where you end up bare-bellied in biology class into a dream of goddess-like energy and strong snake-charming abs: for $30, you get four belly-dancing classes at Little Egypt & Co. (a $70 value, including the one-time $10 registration fee) on Avenue B. All classes must be redeemed within 30 days of the first class.
Little Egypt & Co. trains bellies of all skill levels to refine truncated truffle shuffles through a series of Arabic dance techniques. Owner Brenda K. McFarlane is a performing instructor who coaches students to connect with their femininity through belly dance, a 30% more effective route than blinkless screenings of Gone With the Wind. Try a beginner's class to ease hips into the swing of things. Burn up to 300 calories an hour while improving circulation, reducing blood pressure, maintaining joint health, and correcting postures bent by years of bell-tower maintenance. New class members are encouraged to wear workout gear with coin-studded scarves tied around hips to see and hear each movement clearly. On-going classes are scheduled Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.; Fridays at 6:30 p.m.; and Saturdays at 11 a.m. and noon.

About Belly Dance Little Egypt
Belly Dance Little Egypt's seasoned hip shakers help students burn calories and boost their confidence through the undulating motions of the ancient Middle Eastern dance form. Inside, vibrant and colorful scarves wrap tightly around hips as a fringe of metal discs jangles with each sashay. Anyone with hips can drop in for a one-hour class or purchase a kit, which may feature up to 12 lessons and accessories such as coin belts, silk veils, and a CD of music for practicing at home or in the grocery line. An alternative to classic workouts or dance classes, belly dancing helps women enjoy "me time" while toning up musculature, getting hearts pumping, and freeing bellybuttons to sing karaoke.
