The award-winning Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot serves authentic, healthy fare spun from long-standing traditional techniques. A popular Chinese dish, hot pot is a palate-expanding experience in which diners dunk a rotating display of fresh meats and vegetables into a scorching broth. The savory broth bubbles in an induction heater at each table, cooking the meats and veggies in a fashion similar to that of fondue and hot tubs.
First choose a fresh soup base, such as the house original ($7.95) or spicy ($8.95), then get a-dippin' with a selection from one of 60 dunkables on the menu. Try the lamb shoulder slices ($6.95) to channel the hot pot's origins involving renowned gourmand Genghis Khan; each of the tender, marbled slices can be dipped in one of seven sauces, like the special "My Oh My" ($1.50). Remind tiger prawns ($6.95) and watercress ($3.95) of their former boiling liquid habitats, or soak starches such as the house-made lamb wonton ($5.95) or udon noodles ($2.95). Though the hot pot can easily furnish empty tummy apartments, other items like the barbecued and crisp Mongolian lamb skewers ($6.95) also act as fine digestive décor.
Though hot-potters may not immediately master the technique and process, Little Sheep's friendly and helpful wait staff will happily assist at any stage. The casual, clean, and inviting environment is ideal for for hosting cauldron-side forecasts of Scottish rulers' fates.
Dine-in only.
