A Chat with Lokaha Yoga
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I teach yoga to people who think they don’t like yoga. Classes are unlike those in yoga studios. We practice to pop and rock music not yoga music. It’s perfect for men, women and teens. No experience needed.
Exercise is challenging. How do you keep clients motivated and engaged?
Once people start to practice yoga, they feel so good that they just come back again and again. It reduces those little nagging aches and pains and improves mood and quality of sleep. It can be addictive!
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I love yoga but didn’t always feel comfortable in yoga studios. Sometimes it felt like we were expected to be very serious and silent in a yoga studio. Yoga is fun and I believe you should be able to laugh and smile during classes. I learned to teach yoga and I hold fun informal classes.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of my job is that I not only help people improve their balance, flexibility and strength but also I teach them how to control the non-stop chatter in their minds. Being able to quiet that critical voice is the first step toward being at peace.
