The artists at Look Studios & Gallery tutor all levels of burgeoning brush masters in learning realistic strokes, then allow creativity to bloom from the basics during intimate BYOB classes. The studio outfits students for creative escapades with canvases, materials, and expert instruction. During three-hour figure-painting classes, attendees fill a 16”x20” canvas or their own right thigh with subtle shades of acrylic paints and glazes, mastering layering techniques as they focus on depicting a costumed model. Bottoms Ups group painting classes revolve around a preselected image, which students interpret atop provided canvases while munching on snacks and sipping home-brought brews or favorite pickle juice boxes. Those with four-class passes can select any four sessions from a varied class schedule that includes portrait classes and figure-drawing sessions.
Look Studios & Gallery
Look Studios & Gallery’s team tutors all levels of students in realistic brush strokes and drawing techniques during classes focused on accurately depicting the human form. By discouraging participants from copying each other or hiring an art student intern to paint for them, the staff nurtures creativity and allows it to bloom during intimate BYOB classes. Here, they guide students through the basics to interpret a preselected image using provided materials. In addition to teaching portrait and human figure classes, owner Juliet Lockwood holds summer retreats for artists who paint seascape-inspired pieces during a one- to two-week stay in a Gloucester cottage.
