Los Tacos' authentic Mexican menu allows sizzle-seekers to savor the gastronomic gamut of Mexican fare, including enchiladas, burritos, sopes, taquitos, tortas, tostadas, and tacos. The chicken mole burrito calms cocoa cravings ($5.50), while the super burrito rescues famished diners from the heights of hunger with a choice of muscle-building meats, beans, salsa, and cheese inside a floury cape ($5.75+). Taquito technicians fuse tacos and burritos to create a team of three crispy rolls filled with beef or chicken and guacamole ($5). Those with early-rising appetites can chow on a choice of six breakfast options, including huevos rancheros, which features three eggs over easy under fresh tomatoes, above a corn tortilla, and peppered with prepositions ($5.95). Breakfast burritos compete for a.m. attention by swaddling combinations of meats, eggs, and vegetables into a soft tortilla coverlet ($4.50+).
The Pasadena location of Los Tacos has been featured in The Minty. Fifty-eight Yelpers give the Pasadena location a 3.5-star average, and six Yahoo! Travelers give it a four-star average. Ten Yelpers give the San Gabriel location an average of 3.5 stars.
Los Tacos founder Fidel Leos mined his experience as a maitre d’ and memories of his childhood south of the border to design Los Taco’s menu of authentic Mexican fare. Fillings such as shredded beef and fresh red snapper stuff the restaurant’s namesake tacos, and chefs also sling specialty steak dishes such as grill-kissed carne asada and lightly breaded milanesa onto waiting plates. Early birds dig into Mexican breakfasts such as chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, and meat-free forks can excavate a variety of vegetarian fare.
