What You'll Get
Martinis come in three main varieties: shaken, stirred, and telekinetically scrambled. Get your intellect imbibing with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of drinks, martinis, and appetizers from Lounge Thirty-Three in the Riverside Plaza entertainment center.
With a disciplined troop of more than 30 specialty martinis ($10–$14) parading atop their glowing florescent bar, brother-and-sister team George and Angela Tavaglione direct a campaign to bring glamorous debauchery to Riverside by force of numbers. Rich and creamy martinis, such as the white-chocolate raspberry truffle—Godiva white-chocolate liqueur, vanilla vodka, Chambord and cream ($10)—mingle with classy classics, including the lounge manhattan ($12), and envelope-pushers, such as the Oregon chai tea-ni ($10), vanilla vodka and Oregon chai tea mix garnished with Kahlua.
The sharply minimalist décor and regular spry spinners DJs KidNewTRoN and Jason Timothy create an atmosphere of anything-goes music. Appetizers vary week by week, but usually feature fried foods such as hand-dipped onion rings and jalapeño cream-cheese poppers ($5 each, or free with $25 worth of alcohol).
The dress code at Lounge Thirty-Three asks patrons to refrain from backward hats, bandanas, jerseys, and cloaks of invisibility.
- They've got it all; the area's hottest DJ's spinning nightly, the most delicious french fries I've ever had and the most spectacularly impressive selection of martinis on the east side of LA. – Kerri Walsh, Yahoo! Contributor
- Fun, hip, and always a good time! Best place in town to have a night out. – Google Maps user who reviewed on 10/12/09

About Lounge 33
Bartenders mix more than 30 specialty martinis at Lounge 33, a riverside bar that owes its sophistication to owners Angela and George Tavaglione. The owners’ extensive menu of mixed drinks includes nods to highbrow entertainment, including The Godfather, a drink that fuses Johnnie Walker Green Label and Disaronno amaretto, or the Dirt and Spice martini, an avant-garde combination of Absolut Peppar and olive juice, Tapatio hot sauce, and lemon. Though the focus is on mixed drinks, the Tavagliones also stock wine and beer, while their skilled cooks prepare flatbread pizzas and italian meatball sandwiches guaranteed not to pop a meatball out and send it rolling to the top of Mount Smokey.
