Saunas are the first viable use for water, which has traditionally tormented humanity by raining on us and tasting like nothing. Experience vaporous luxury with today's Groupon to Löyly: for $15, you get either up to one hour in the sauna for two people (a $30 value) or up to two hours in the sauna for one person (a $20 value), plus the attendant towel and robes (a $3 value each), up to a $36 value. This deal includes unencumbered access to Löyly's facilities, including the lockers, showers, steam rooms, lounge and, best of all, the front door.
The exposed grains of the wood-hulled Scandinavian-styled saunporium accent the deliberately minimalist aesthetic. The cedar-sauna smells of the forest in summertime swirl through the air, and the chill lounge (AC-cooled in warmer months) offers plenty of opportunity to pick up your lost sweat drops and browse the spa's Dr. Hauschka holistic skincare line. Though not included in the Groupon, you can also purchase single shots of sea-salt body scrubs or masks and apply them yourself in-sauna–no frissy-fussy sauna-maiden or manden required. For a wetter, more equatorial heat, patter your bare feet no further than the steam room.
Löyly has both coed sauna hours and single-sex hours. Ladies can perspire worlds together Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, while guys get the place to themselves on Sunday mornings. Both halves are welcome Sunday afternoons, Mondays, and Wednesdays. Sauna-goers are free to let loose during segregated hours, but bathing suits must be worn during coed steam jams.
Call to make your reservation. Do not bring your own robes, towels, or beauty products.
- Loyly is Lovely! Really refreshing to have a simple and elegant space(urban yet quiet) without clutter to relax in. Love the option of wine or tea as well as the various facial steams and massages avaiable. And I love that I dont have to bring my toiletries bag because they have absolutly [sic] everything you need. – mary000, Citysearch
- It's such a treat to have time to myself! Go on a women-only day and just hang out nekkid and relax in the beautiful surroundings ... a very organic, unusual experience that brings me back in touch with myself every time. – bunnybunnyrabbit, Citysearch
- Great place to kick back and relax. My wife and I head there for general relaxation in the sauna and steam room. The atmosphere is tranquil and quiet with very respectful attendees. – Ben K., Yelp
