Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Does this certificate include an oil filter? Are shop and disposal fees extra?

Theodore P.  asked on  Sep 28, 2012

A:

Oil filter, coolant/power steering fluid top-off, pressure/battery checks, chassis greasing, and more is absolutely included. Regarding disposal fees? Ask a dealership or service station how much they get paid for their waste oil the next time they want to charge you 'environmental fees' - pretty sure they'll squirm.

Q:

This is not usually the kind of oil in my car. If I put this kind of oil in my car, will I always have to for the rest of the car's life? I have an old car with high milage and I'm afraid of doing something to upset it. What is the deal with this "eco friendly oil"? Margaret

margaret e.  asked on  Sep 28, 2012

A:

Margaret, depending on the year of your vehicle, you shouldn't have a problem using different types of oils to find the best one for your car. All of today's oils, including our Lyden ProGuard re-refined motor oil, are highly engineered and do a great job protecting engines. If your car has more mileage (above 50,000 miles) you might consider a high mileage oil. Full synthetic oils allow for better gas mileage and engine performance. The choice is yours! Lube Stop was the first quick lube in the U.S. to trademark a re-refined oil change service called EcoGuard in 2008. EcoGuard combines our 20 Point Complete Service with the use of an ILSAC- and API-certified and approved motor oil - helping to reuse a finite resource, preventing environmental contamination, and reducing the amount of energy needed to produce motor oil.

Q:

What is the regular price of a synthetic oil change ( so I know exactly what my charge will be after i take off the $18.00 groupon)

Mary K.  asked on  Sep 28, 2012

A:

A Full Synthetic Oil Change costs $64.99 plus tax. As part of this service, we top off all fluids, check your tire pressure, check the life of your battery, and check your differential (s) and transfer case for leaks. We can also provide a free E-Check service if your car is due. This promotion ($18 for $38) doesn't apply to full synthetic service, it is for an EcoGuard service (our most popular service), regularly 37.99. So, you will save $18 off of the $64.99 cost of the Synthetic Oil Change.

Q:

If the price of the Grouopn is $18.00 for a value of $37.99 if a customer wants tp upgrade to the Full Synthetic oil change ($64.99) shouldn't they receive the $37.99 credit towards this service and pay the difference of $27.00? Otherwise, why buy the Groupon if you need Full Synthetic?

Melissa E.  asked on  Sep 28, 2012

A:

This promotion doesn't apply to full synthetic service, it is for an EcoGuard service (our most popular service), regularly 37.99. So GroupOn customers receive an additional 19.99 in value by choosing the EcoGuard oil change service.
