What You'll Get

Today's Groupon coats your fingers and tongue in a savory layer of some of the beautifulest BBQ in Dallas. For $10, you get $25 worth of brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and any of the mouthwatering comfort food at Luckie's Smokehouse.
Biting into a huge baked potato, three-meat plate, or pile of pork ribs is a sure cure for any smokehouse passion and some forms of puerperal fever. The menu also has satisfying sides such as potato salad, green-chile corn pudding, and red coleslaw.
Luckie's is a sleek and simple over-the-counter eatery with big-screen TVs, two meat smokers, and seven full-time John Lithgow impersonators. It just started serving affordable, delicious fare earlier this summer, so this Groupon is the perfect chance to digest Dallas's latest BBQ. Service is fast, friendly, and as soft and cuddlesome as a fresh puppy wrapped in a jacket made out of an old Tempur-Pedic mattress.
Pegasus News wrote about Luckie's Smokehouse when it opened this summer:
- Barbecue snobs seem likely to descend on Luckie's Smokehouse, a BBQ spot that just opened on the western side of Oak Cliff, just east of Loop 12 and just south of 30. "Lucky" is the nickname of owner Charles Johnson, who most recently owned Echo Lounge on Greenville Avenue but who learned about good barbecue after living in Austin. – Teresa Gubbins, Pegasus News
Luckie's is still new, so there aren't many reviews yet. On Urbanspoon, 66% like it (six out of the nine reviewers):
- I have become a regular at this notorious restaurant... The chicken is so moist that I needed no sauce to make it quite as tasty as any other chicken that I have ate in my entire life of eating. – jackie arbaiza, Urbanspoon
- From the moment i entered the door i was greeted in a friendly manner. They had exceptional service. Before i had even made up my mind on what I was to eat, they had offered a sample of their brisket (which was to die for). – sandy, Urbanspoon
Luckie’s signature BBQ sauce will have you licking your fingers in public in no time flat. It’s no wonder that they’re leaving competitors in the dust, especially Tapwater Todd’s Blandbecue down the street. Here are just a few of the sauce flavors Todd’s has to offer:
- Strawberry Milk
- Baby Powder
