Erin McKay has been studying, performing, and teaching belly dance since 2006. She has performed in the area as a soloist, and is the director of Luxis Bellydance.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. There’s no need to show your belly if you’re not comfortable. Students are encouraged to bring water and a yoga mat.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
To perform an innovative style of fusion belly dance, based on traditional styles with a modern flair.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing students overcome body issues and learn how to move in a powerful, feminine way.
