Lynrich Arts Fine Arts Centre presents a full palette of art classes for adults and children aspiring to transition from doodles to de Kooning. Lynrich's studio, awash in natural light, is an ideal place for both serious artists and beginners to hone their craft. Seven adult classes, two children and teen classes, and two portfolio prep classes focus on separate artistic disciplines, such as the Portrait & Figure Drawing class, partially utilizing one-on-one instruction to help the student practice the elements of pastel-pencil technique, charcoal technique, and tip-of-nose technique. Basic to advanced painting classes in acrylic, oil, and watercolour techniques are also available for adults. Children and teens can enroll in the Cartooning class, which focuses on the fundamentals of cartooning and character, or the Multi-Mixed Media class, which gives kids ages 5–16 a crash course in a host of materials, from pen and ink to claywork and watercolour. Portfolio prep courses are available for students in grades 6–12, and run for eight weeks.
Lynrich Arts Fine Arts Centre is also a full-line arts-supply store, stocking everything from canvases and brushes to drafting supplies and replacement ears. Though some classes at Lynrich include materials, most require them to be purchased in addition to the price of the class.
What began as an art-supply store in 1978 has since grown into a full art centre helmed by husband-and-wife team Lynnie and Richard Rosenthal. The inventive duo harnesses their extensive experiences in the art world to teach students at Lynrich Arts Fine Arts Centre how to create their own masterpieces. Adults delve into watercolour, acrylic-painting, and drawing projects; children try their hands at mixed media and cartooning, sketching out imagined superhero feats or adventures in accounting. In addition to creating business cards, brochures, and banners, the accommodating staff also hosts parties, ringing in birthdays, bridal showers, or other notable occasions with plenty of paintbrushes, canvases, ceramics, and inspirational work lining the walls.
