The first step to getting in shape is deciding to get in shape; the second step is figuring out how to transplant your brain into a body builder’s body. Transform with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $69 for a five-week Ultimate Body Challenge (a $199 value)
Each student is paired with a specific coach, who provides motivation and guidance throughout the program, which includes an orientation with fitness evaluation to determine beginning fitness level. Students gain unlimited access to more than 25 classes weekly, including kickboxing, along with a nutritional program and strength training to build muscle throughout time. Assigned coaches provide moral support in the gym and help keep the challengers accountable outside the gym as they follow their custom nutritional plan and illustrated workbook with helpful, daily to-do lists.
- $25 for one month of unlimited kickboxing classes (a $65 value)
With feet and legs locked into boxing gloves and shin guards, respectively, students undergo a 45-minute workout while learning self-defense techniques, pummeling the air, focus pads, and punching bags with punches and kicks. The moves build coordination, flexibility, and balance, while the quick pace of exercises increase cardiovascular endurance and muscle tone. Ultimately, participants gain basic self-defense skills as they tone their bodies.
Dozens of upright punching bags stand like padded pillars throughout MA Fitness’s space. Over the years, they have learned to fear the fists and feet of the gym’s aspiring martial artists. Thanks to the motivation and encouragement offered by the staff of professional and volunteer coaches, even first-time kickboxers pound the stuffing from their stationary opponents with an endless rain of blows. The strikes get fiercer as students perfect their technique with unlimited kickboxing classes or build their strength during body-resistance conditioning courses.
In addition to helping patrons whip themselves into shape and hone self-defense skills in a cross-training atmosphere, the staff reaches out to the community through myriad charity efforts. MA Fitness has sponsored fundraisers for organizations including All Children's Hospital, Toys for Tots, and the American Cancer Society. Each week, it hosts Sunday Smack Downs, a kickboxing class from which part of the proceeds go to charity, untouched by overweight cats wearing top hats and smoking cigars.
